Twas the Night Before Christmas

On Christmas Eve Justin, Tateym, Mom, Dad, and I went to a candlelight Christmas Eve church service at our church - Christ United Methodist in College Sation. Afterward we went to see a few Christmas lights & came home to have tamales. Justin's family has always eaten tamales on Christmas eve so we carried over the tradition. Before Tateym went to bed we read her The Night Before Christmas book! That will be one of our Christmas traditions!

Christmas Morning- Santa Came!

Our 1st Christmas morning with Tateym was so much fun!
I can only imagine that every Christmas morning with her is going to be priceless.. especially since she will actually be able to open presents and enjoy them! :)

I made mine, Tateym's, & Justin's stockings. The other two are for Maggie & Wyatt. (doggies)

Santa was good to us this year!

Holiday Goodies!!

This Christmas I did a lot of baking! I started baking one day at 9am and finished that evening around 6:30pm. Of course I took breaks to feed, change, & entertain Tateym, but most of the day I was slaving over the oven. I made Peppermint Meltaways (below), Oreo Balls, Pecan Bars, & Sugar Cookies decorated as Christmas trees, Candy canes, and Santa Hats! Then we dressed Tateym in her Christmas clothes & Santa hat and delivered them to local family and friends!!

Christmas in Pflugerville

Tuesday & Wednesday we were at Justin's dad's house in Pflugerville! We had a great time visiting his dad. He made us yummy steaks & baked potatos for dinner and eggs, bacon, biscuits, & hashbrowns for breakfast. :) He also makes really good candy turtles every Christmas.

Tateym & her daddy

Russell bought Tateym a stuffed lamb that plays "Jesus Loves Me". She decided to eat it.

He had this bouquet of giant cookies that were soo yummy! I made myself sick.

She found some friends to play with!

This blanket was a gift from Nana

Justin's dad wrote a poem for Tateym & had it mounted with these pictures. I love it! Especially the poem.

Here is the poem Russell wrote for Tateym:

A Little Girl

R. Hamilton

A man and his wife provided the blessing of an amazing new life;
May all your days ahead, be blessed with little strife.
No doubt this innocence is a gift from up above;
And this little girl’s birth provides proof, of his never-ending love.

When family, friends, and love ones come and gather around;
Joys and aspirations are always quick to abound.
As God guides, protects, and keeps you;
May you never lose direction, while your dreams you pursue.

There is no goal that you cannot achieve;
So set the bar high and his abundant blessings, you’ll receive.
Listen as your parents, provide you with direction;
Strength and guidance will emerge, with the upmost affection.

May love and happiness find you every day;
And don’t grow up too fast, as you enjoy your time at play.
Friends may come and go, but families are forever;
In spite of anything you could do, this bond shall not be severed.

Temptations will surely come your way;
And if there is ever any doubt, don’t forget to bow and pray.
Guidance and direction will lovingly be provided;
As along your favored path - you’ll be guided.

It’s hard to express all my joys;
As I have been blessed with two wonderful boys.
Little girls, they’re oh so sweet;
As for Papi, you make my life complete.
