Already 1 Month Old!

I am late again at getting these pictures posted, but this is Tateym Kayte at 1 month old!! I'm going to put her beside JoJo, my teddy bear from when I was little, each month to see how much she grows. I got the idea from my friend Katie who is putting her little girl, Ella, beside a stuffed Curious George. They will all four - Tateym, JoJo, Ella, & George- be great friends!

Her upper body looks like she's running.

1 Week Old Portraits

I'm a little late at getting these posted, but these are Tateym's portraits we had taken at 7 days old.

She wet on the photographer's white cloth and pooped in a blanket while I was carrying her, but she did really awesome!

Thank Heaven for these 2 Little Girls

Tateym has borrowed several baby clothes that were her cousin Kelsey's when she was a baby! She mainly just wears the pajamas since many of the outfits are out of date/style since they're from 13 years ago. Kelsey had her picture taken in one outfit that says "Thank Heaven for Little Girls" at 16 days old so we put Tateym in it too. Tateym was 19 days old.

Walking the Doggies

The only exercise I got during my pregnancy was walking our dogs, Wyatt and Maggie, around our neighborhood. We try to walk them as often as possible, sometimes every day or every couple of days. However, since little Tateym has joined us the dog walks have been pushed to the side. I feel so guilty when we haven't walked them so we started our walks back up again taking our little one with us. We've only done 2 in 2 weeks now, but hopefully they'll become more regular pretty soon. I need the exercise as much as the dogs do!

Tateym missed her 1st dog walk because she slept right through it! I even accidentally rammed the stroller into the front door on the way outside, oops, and she never moved. I ran into the curb a few times and she was still out of it. It was my first time pushing that big stroller.. a little hard to maneuver!

She wasn't practicing her Midnight Yell this day, she was still sound asleep when we got back home!

Here is a picture of Tateym the 2nd time we took the dogs walking and she was wide awake and curious! Just look at that face - I wonder what she's thinking?

Doctor Visits

Tateym has gone to the doctor twice now. She first went when she was 4 days old and again when she was 2 weeks old. At her first visit she weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces and was 20 1/4 inches long. This was the same as when she left the hospital, although she was 8 pounds 6 ounces when she was born. The nurse put something to her head to test for jaundice and they said she did have some but they didn't know how bad it was and that we would need to go over to the hospital to have her blood taken. It took forever after having to go to registration and do all the paperwork, etc. They called us later and said her jaundice level was 10 and anything under 12 was fine so we didn't have to do anything special for the jaundice. That was a relief!

When Justin and I were walking back into the doctor's office for the 2 week appointment we commented how this wouldn't take so long this time and how much last time stunk having to go to the hospital. We went in and she weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces which was great since it was pretty much her birth weight. She is in the 50th percentile for her weight. She grew 3/4 inch making her 21 inches long and in the 75th percentile for height. Who would have thought she would be tall?! Her head circumference was good too and in the 50th percentile. She seems to be a healthy baby thank God! Then the doctor told us they do a newborn screening test at 2 weeks and we would have to go back to the hospital for her to give blood again! Dang it.. Unlike last time when they just poked her foot this time they had to keep squeezing blood out to completely cover like 8 circles on the paper. She was screaming the whole time and it broke my heart! Her next appointment is October 20th for her 2 month check up and I hope they don't have to take anymore blood from my baby!

Splish Splash Tateym's 1st Baths

This is a picture of Tateym's very first bath ever in the hospital nursery...

Here are a few pics of Justin and I attempting to bathe Tateym without getting her umbilical cord wet! We had a few trial and errors in the beginning.. We tried it first in the kitchen sink but it was too small, then moved to the kitchen counter to give sponge baths, then moved the pad into the bathtub so we would get more wet, and now finally that her cord is off we put her pink tub into the bathtub! She LOVES getting a bath and actually cries sometimes when we get her out of the bath. Just like her mom I guess- I could live in the bath!
